| The Middletown
Pistol and Rifle Association, Inc. (MPRA) is conveniently
located just outside Middletown, New York in a quiet, country
setting in the Town of Wallkill near preserved watershed
property. Please call for directions. Our building is heated and air exchange is provided by exhaust fans. Our parking area is adequate to handle Association meetings, host inter club matches and public events. The range is accessible to physically handicapped persons and is available to members and guests 24 hours a day 7 days a week by membership key. MPRA offers a 10 station, indoor range with electronically controlled turning targets with rolling shooting beaches for 10m 25', 50', and 75' shooting positions. We have special returning targets for our air pistol and rifle matches. Our backstop is
designed for airguns, .22 rifles, and center fire handguns for
indoor competition. No jacketed
bullets are allowed above .380 caliber and all magnum loads
are prohibited as are center fire rifles and all shotguns.
We have no outdoor facilities at
present. In addition to two NRA Certified Training Counselor members, MPRA boasts a large number of NRA Certified Firearms instructor members and all MPRA courses conform to NRA training standards. MPRA regularly hosts Ulster County Pistol League matches in .22 and center fire bulls eye competitions. A list of popular MPRA shooting events is available. MPRA is a 100% NRA
Member Affiliate with currently more than 200 members. Annual
membership is open to any NRA adult member and associate
memberships (no key, no voting privilege, no newsletter) are
available for juniors 12-18, spouses and MPRA sponsors.
Applications are available at all MPRA general membership
meetings held the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MPRA
facility beginning at 8 p.m.
